Senior placement services in San Diego, expert help, free to your family

One 15-minute conversation gets you a shortlist of communities that actually fit your parent’s care needs, personality, and budget, from an RCFE-licensed advisor who tours with you and reviews the contract before you sign.

The basics

What is a senior placement agency?

A senior placement agency helps families find the right senior living community, assisted living, board & care, memory care, or independent living. The service is free to families: the agency is paid a referral fee by the community after move-in, typically based on the first month’s rent. Think of it as a buyer’s agent for senior living.

The difference at Senior Living Services: Natalie Barrantes holds an RCFE Administrator license, the credential California requires to run these communities, so she evaluates them from the inside, not from a brochure.

You're in the right place

If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone

Mom had a fall, the hospital says she can’t go home alone, and discharge is Friday.

Dad’s memory is slipping and it’s no longer safe, but you don’t know what “memory care” even costs.

You’ve been the caregiver for months and you’re running on empty.

Your parent agreed to look, and you’re staring at 100+ San Diego communities with no idea which are good.

Whatever brought you here, there’s a plan for it, and it starts with one free conversation. Call or text 858-768-1324.

The process

How placement works, start to settled-in

1

The conversation (day 1)

Care needs, medications, personality, budget, and what matters to your family. By phone, text, or in person, 15 minutes.

2

The shortlist (days 1–3)

Three to five communities that genuinely fit, including current availability and any move-in promotions. No lists of 40 names.

3

Tours, together (week 1–2)

Natalie schedules and joins your tours. She asks about staffing ratios, licensing history, and fee escalations, the questions families don’t know to ask.

4

The decision, protected

Contract review before you sign. She flags care-level pricing traps and negotiates where there’s room.

5

The move, handled

Movers, furniture, supplies, pharmacy transfer, coordinated. She follows up after move-in to make sure it’s working.

Most families finish this in 2–6 weeks; urgent hospital-discharge cases can move in within days.

Move fast when it counts

Hospital discharge deadline? We move fast.

When the hospital gives you 48–72 hours, you don’t have time to research. Natalie knows which San Diego communities have open beds this week, which accept your parent’s care level, and how to complete assessments fast. Call or text 858-768-1324 and say “discharge”, those calls jump the line.

Straight answers

"Free" always has a catch. Here's why this doesn't.

You never pay us. Communities pay a referral fee after move-in, standard in this industry, disclosed openly here.

Same price either way. Communities don’t charge families more for coming through an advisor.

No steering. Natalie’s shortlist is built from your parent’s needs. Her RCFE license and local reputation are worth more than any single fee.

No obligation. Take the shortlist and tour alone if you prefer. Families don’t, though, the guided tour is where the value shows.

“Natalie jumped in to become our partner, not only caring about finding the best option for us, but being an expert in the pros and cons of different places.”

Questions families ask first

How does a senior placement agency get paid?

The community your parent chooses pays the agency a one-time referral fee after move-in, usually calculated from the first month’s rent. Families pay nothing, and community pricing is identical whether or not you use an advisor. The fee model is disclosed upfront.

Is a placement agency better than searching online directories?

Online directories sell your contact information to multiple facilities, which is why the calls never stop. A local placement advisor visits communities in person, knows their licensing history and staff turnover, and gives you a short, vetted list, with one point of contact.

Can you place a parent with dementia?

Yes. Memory care placement is one of Natalie’s core specialties. She matches the security level, staff training, and behavioral support to your parent’s stage of dementia, and helps time the move, earlier placements almost always go smoother than crisis moves.

What does the free consultation include?

A care-needs assessment, a realistic budget conversation (including whether the family home could fund care), a shortlist of 3–5 matched San Diego communities, and a clear next step. It takes about 15 minutes by phone or text, with no obligation.

Do communities pay you more to recommend them?

Referral fees are broadly similar across communities, and Natalie’s shortlists are driven by fit: care level, personality, location, and budget. She tours with you and reviews the contract, her recommendations have to survive your family’s scrutiny in person.
